  New flowerbed in bloom!  

Seed & Fertilize

  • Seed new or bare areas of lawn and fertilize.
  • Mow lawn high.
  • Start new compost heap.

Clean up & Harvest

  • Clean up flower beds.
  • Cultivate and sow clover ground cover adding nitrogen to the soil.
  • Harvest root crops.
  • Dig up summer bulbs before freeze.
  • Plant spring bulbs.

Water & Bring-in

  • Water newly planted trees, shrubs and fall bloomers.
  • Bring in houseplants, cut off rang growth, repot if necessary.
  • Watch for and treat houseplants.

 

Garden Planning and Design Tip:   Daylilies are a welcome sight in any garden with their bright colors and fragrance.  Best of all, daylilies are perennials that will come back year after year.  They will need to be divided every few years to keep them looking their best and to keep them from taking over your garden.
