Look at these bright eyes phlox in full bloom.

Pinch & Stake

  • Remove faded bulb foliage or dig up to transplant in Autumn.
  • Remove dead flowers, stalks, and stems of perennials.
  • Pinch new growth on tomatoes and stake.

Plant & Weed

  • Plant again: carrots, beets, etc...
  • Weed all gardens.

Mulch & Water

  • Add summer mulch.
  • Water lawn and all plants deeply.

Garden Planning and Design Tip:  Use colorful flowering trees and shrubs as an accent and to border your flower garden or yard.  Use a mix of trees that flower in the spring to trees that create vibrant colors in the fall.
