  New flowerbed in bloom!  

Cut & Collect

  • Cut flower heads to encourage more blooms.
  • Cut back roses and tender shrubs.
  • Collect seeds from annuals.
  • Detach strawberry runners from parent plant.
  • Order spring bulbs.

Sow & Weed

  • Sow seeds for perennials and biennials like columbine, coreopsis, delphinium,  daisy and hollyhock.
  • Plant chrysanthemums.
  • Set out new plants like daylilies, foxglove, iris, poppy and peonies.
  • Weed all gardens.
  • Clean up garden after fall crops are harvested.
  • Cultivate soil and sow winter crop.

Feed & Water & Spray

  • Feed perennials and strawberries for the last time.
  • Spray for pests.
  • Keep watered and fertilize lightly between bursts of bloom.
