The Christian Conundrum

September 6

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?"  Acts 4:7

"Does the brilliance of your Christian life cause anybody to don their SON-glasses ..."

Have you ever been held up as 'Exhibit A' during one of man's regular tribunals to indict GOD?  Is anything about your life an enigma?  Are you perplexing to any individual or group?  Whom is it, that you leave scratching their head?  "But ye are ... a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of HIM WHO hath called you out of darkness into HIS marvellous light:"  Does the brilliance of your Christian life cause anybody to don their SON-glasses when you walk by? If there is nothing algebraic regarding your Christianity, perhaps you should stand before the mirror of HIS Word to see if you even reflect.  The equation of a life that is "hid with CHRIST in GOD" is not intended to add up; to divide maybe, but not to make sense to the modern day maniacs of the Gadarenes we find ourselves amongst.

Everywhere JESUS went, people were made to wonder.  Just HIS mere presence was enough, a miracle here, or a teaching there, only compounded HIS insoluble status.  The conundrum of HIS life eventually became so intolerable, that the crowds cried for it over their frustration to solve it.  Two thousand years have not changed a thing; crowds today still seethe over any follower of HIS who dares to ruin their average.  A cursory glance at Acts reveals that post-Pentecost, HIS disciples had indeed become moons of the SON; stirring the masses for good or bad wherever they went.  "Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them."  The lame were healed, the sick cured, the demons made to flee, and even the dead were raised.  At first the lost came and were "added" to the church; then they were "multiplied", as numbers of souls were saved.  "And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: ..."  The holy reputation of CHRIST and HIS early church was so revered that the disingenuous wanted nothing to do with them.  Sadly today, the descendents of the disingenuous make up the pulpit committees of mainline evangelicalism; and our estimation of spiritual prowess is measured not by the building of HIS church, but by the size of our buildings.  In spite of this, the conundrum of CHRIST remains intact! ... HE has just been relegated to the closet while the vilest of sinners have come out of theirs, some even having the audacity to masquerade as HIS representatives.  Among the self appointed jurists of sinful men, are you a witness for the prosecution, or the defense, regarding HIM and HIS Kingdom?

"And say unto HIM, By what authority doest THOU these things? and who gave THEE this authority to do these things?"
