Positive Persuasion

October 5

“For I am persuaded ..."  Romans 8:38

"There is zero tolerance for the double-minded in the camp of the convicted!"

Whether you'll admit it or not, you are currently, and fully, persuaded of something.  Our every word and deed is but the impulse of what we are convinced is true.  If you hold that the Bible is generally right, yet with some room for conjecture, your life will reflect that.  If you trust that there is no GOD, and what we see is all we get, then that too will come to the surface.  If however, you are persuaded that GOD is true, just, and holy; and every jot and tittle of HIS Word will come to pass, HIS fear will guide your feet.  "For whether we live, we live unto the LORD; and whether we die, we die unto the LORD: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the LORD'S."  Persuasion, if it is genuine, will straightway distill into a conviction you are both willing to live for, and die for.  Put simply, a person who is fully persuaded inwardly, will demonstrate outwardly what he\she is persuaded of.  There is zero tolerance for the double-minded in the camp of the convicted!  "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know WHOM I have believed, and am persuaded that HE is able to keep that which I have committed unto HIM against that day."  The amazing feats of Paul were not accomplished because he was bionic, but were rather the mere nerve endings of his full persuasion in CHRIST; and thus death, and all on either side of it, held no sway whatsoever in his life.

Within the scope and sphere of our influence, all of us hold the power to persuade others to some degree.  "Now then we are ambassadors for CHRIST, as though GOD did beseech you by us: we pray you in CHRIST'S stead, be ye reconciled to GOD."  It is a force to be coveted, if the object of your persuasion is JESUS CHRIST and HIS gospel.  Peer pressure might better be termed peer persuasion, for it is the ability to convince others around us to our position; with the corresponding acts and words to affirm their conversion.  There is a cognitive action in all true persuasion.  The vacuum of thought may leave a person duped, but he\she is not persuaded.

"And being fully persuaded that, what HE had promised, HE was able also to perform."

"For the Christian man to reason that GOD does not want him involved in politics because there are too many evil men in government is as insensitive as for a Christian doctor to turn his back on an epidemic because there are too many germs there."
