Chicken or Egg?

October 22

“... the LORD thy GOD hath chosen thee to be a special people unto HIMSELF"  Deuteronomy 7:6

"Does GOD play favorites ... is an age old question."

Does GOD play favorites ... is an age old question.  I suppose that the sovereign election of GOD, and the freewill of man, will be debated right up to the gates of glory.  The only honest reconciliation of Scripture in this feud of faith appears to be paradoxical ... that they are both true.  Regardless of whether the pennant in your den bears Arminius or Calvin, the position you impassion, will be moot that first nano-second of your eternity.  Yes, but is it the chicken or the egg?  "... for many be called, but few chosen."  There is no disputing that JESUS CHRIST died for the sins of the whole world, thus choosing to redeem each and every man, woman, and child.  "The LORD is ... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."  It is of equal certitude however, that every man, woman, and child will not enter into Heaven; but many instead, according to JESUS, will spend eternity in a Devil's Hell (cf. Matthew 7:13-14).

"According as HE hath chosen us in HIM before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:"  Is it not plausible that choice is a circuit, and that GOD did choose us at Calvary; but awaits the loop to close with our choice to receive HIS offer of eternal life (cf. John 1:12-13).  To leave this life without a last will and testament is irresponsible; but to die and go into eternity without closing this choice with CHRIST is irreversible!  "But the LORD said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto ME, to bear MY NAME ..."  Once that loop does close, the circuit is energized, and the light is on, to be shed upon all who will see.  You'll be no good for the LORD sitting in the charger, get up and get out as an extension of HIM, hooked up and burning bright.  Be forewarned though, that all who leave their forever, open-ended, will work tirelessly to throw your breaker, and cut your cord to CHRIST JESUS in deference to their own darkness (cf. John 3:19-20).

"Ye have not chosen ME, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain ..."

"Without GOD there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life.  Recognition of the SUPREME BEING is the first -- the most basic -- expression of Americanism.  Thus the founding fathers of America saw it, and thus with GOD'S help, it will continue to be."
