“And what is the exceeding greatness of HIS power to usward who believe ... Which HE wrought in CHRIST, when HE raised HIM from the dead"  Ephesians 1:19-20

"... CHRIST would have to fall dead from HIS throne, for us to have a legitimate alibi for our sin"

Have you ever considered that the expenditure of GOD'S power to save and sanctify you, is proportionate to what HE did on that blessed third day beyond Calvary?  How much power was expended when the FATHER raised HIS SON out of Joseph of Arimathaea's tomb that first Easter morning?  Is it possible to diminish omnipotence ... and if so, did the power grid of Heaven go dim for a time?  The undeniable answer to these questions is that our FATHER expended all of HIS infinite power at once, while suffering no loss at its expense.  That dear friend, is the definition of omnipotence!

"For it is GOD which worketh in you both to will and to do of HIS good pleasure."  Brethren, if all this be true, why do so many of us live in blackout conditions when it comes to our Christian lives?  Could it be that we purposely and willfully short circuit HIS power and circumvent HIS will, for the love of sin?  'But I can't help myself ' ... Amen, which is the exact reason and purpose GOD sent HIS SON to help in your stead.  Dear child of GOD, are you not indwelt of the ALMIGHTY?  Is it too much of a stretch to surmise that CHRIST would have to fall dead from HIS throne, for us to have a legitimate alibi for our sin?  That seems like a perfectly logical conclusion to draw from today's text in Ephesians; and yet whole tracts of professing Christendom live like there is not only no tomorrow, but no eternity either.  "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto GOD, that they may receive forgiveness of sins ..."  The message these practicing naysayers proclaim so loud and clear is: GOD is dead, thus I am helpless; when in fact, just the opposite is true.

"... God is light, and in HIM is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with HIM, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"  Are you tapped in to Heaven's highline personally, and exhibiting HIS power practically?  Is it possible to be in HIS power grid (saved), and yet live in darkness?  This is perhaps the most probing question to ask.

"Ye are the light of the world ... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your FATHER which is in heaven."

For Love of Country
John Witherspoon  (1723-1794)
(Signature to the Declaration of Independence)
"Gentlemen, New Jersey is ready to vote for independence.  In our judgment, the country is not only ripe for independence, but we are in danger of becoming rotten for the want of it, if we delay any longer!"
