But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST."  2 Peter 3:18

"In the SPIRIT filled life, there are no runts."

In the SPIRIT filled life, there are no runts.  The will of the LORD is that each of HIS redemptive offspring grow up to maturity in the faith.  "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of WHOM thou hast learned them;"  As with all pupilage, there is a continuing education vital to the Christian, which if ignored, leaves a pitiful dyslexic as the result.

Given the importance of true HIGHER Learning, count these 7 sequential steps of spiritual growth as indispensable:

  1. Turn from the ignorance of your sin to the SAVIOR: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of GOD ..."  You must live in order to learn ... a cemetery may prove instructive, but there are no graduate courses offered there.

  2. Take the teat of HIS Text as your sole source of nourishment: "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"

  3. Trust HIM as your only INSTRUCTOR: "That the GOD of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the FATHER of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of HIM:"

  4. Trim your coursework to focus on your major in CHRIST: "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of CHRIST JESUS my LORD: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win CHRIST ..."

  5. Treasure HIS curriculum as the golden gospel it is: "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."

  6. Tune out the tribes of the heretical during your tenure here in foreign exchange: "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things ..."

  7. Teach what you've been taught to others: "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."

Collectively, these provide for us the 'T's of Truth, for spiritual life, and growth in HIS grace and knowledge!

"That ye might walk worthy of the LORD unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of GOD"
