Demographics of the Delivered

November 4

“... And the common people heard HIM gladly."  Mark 12:37

"JESUS is the common man's SAVIOR!"

JESUS is the common man's SAVIOR!  "And all the people came early in the morning to HIM in the temple, for to hear HIM."  Everywhere you find HIM during HIS brief tenure here on earth, HE was with the garden variety people.  "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:"  From HIS arrival in the cow trough, to HIS upbringing in a lowly carpenter shop, to HIS itinerant ministry with no place to lay HIS head; HE associated with the plebian of society.  "The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them."  HIS preference toward the blue collar of HIS day was so pronounced, that it moved the movers and shakers of that time to frequently attempt HIS demise.  "At that time JESUS answered and said, I thank THEE, O FATHER, LORD of heaven and earth, because THOU hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes."  Oh, occasionally, the muckity-muck came to where HE was, but it almost appears as if HE avoided them.  The LORD HIMSELF stated that it would be easier for a camel to be pulled through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to be saved.  It was JESUS WHO told the rich young ruler to sell what he had, give it away, and come follow HIM; to which the Scripture tells that he went away sad, in love of his riches.  "Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on HIM?"  You'll recall that it was the upper crust of Jewish society who incited the crowd, and insisted upon the Romans to have HIM crucified.  Even after HIS resurrection, HE headed out for Galilee to meet with HIS little band of commoners; instead of into town to thumb HIMSELF to the self-righteousness snobs who had HIM murdered.  And if you check the demographics of today's delivered, you'll discover that not much has changed in nearly 2000 years.

"And HE brought forth HIS people with joy, and HIS chosen with gladness:"  Have you heard HIM?  If it be so, there will be an irrepressible gladness about your life, that like HIS, will defy present lot and circumstance, at the thought of what lies just ahead.

"And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
