“For GOD is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love …”  Hebrews 6:10

"... the slave labour of the sacrilegious will merit nothing but fire before HIS throne."

Who is it that you want to leave an impression with?  If it is man, you can count on being forgotten and forlorn, but not so with GOD.  Not only will HE never leave nor forsake us, but HE is equally committed to remember our work and service.  What a glorious thought to consider that in Heaven there is no amnesia.  If you are hedging your shoddy service to JESUS CHRIST on the hope that Alzheimer’s will develop in Heaven, you will be sorely disappointed.  This of course holds bittersweet implications.  “… beloved, we are persuaded better things of you … things that accompany salvation”  On the one hand is the sweet knowledge that HIS records are accurate regarding our service to HIM, regardless of how unresponsive, and ungrateful men may be.  “… be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”  On the other hand is the bitter reminder that all of our lazy days spent wasting away the atonement of HIS SON; the indwelling of HIS SPIRIT; and the direction of HIS Word, will sooner or later come home to roost.

“Every man’s work shall be made manifest … of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss …”  Of the vast religious work camps in our world today, it will prove interesting to see what endures the fiery scrutiny of the LORD, when judgment for reward is rendered before HIS Bema Seat.  I predict a great purging of the piety, pride, and presumption, so prevalent in modern Christianity lies in store.  If appearance is any indicator, the wood, hay, and stubble of spirituality, will stoke a flame rivaling the heat of hell itself, albeit for a brief time.  It almost looks like Pharaoh has returned in some quarters, to enslave GOD’S people and once again demand his bricks of straw.  To the chagrin of the modern Moses’, history repeats itself as HIS chosen languish under their burden, while reluctant to leave the Neo-Egypt they find themselves in.  Whether you toil for the praise of man, or for the stroke of your own ego, prepare to go unrewarded, when the rewards of service are dispensed.  At the end of the day, the slave labour of the sacrilegious will merit nothing but fire before HIS throne.  That which is rendered in the crux of grateful love for the SAVIOR however, will beget a reward that “eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man …”.

“I must work the works of HIM that sent ME, while it is yet day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
