Mission: Izpossible

November 20

"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you ..."  Romans 12:18

"The one great impediment to popularity ... is unpopular decisions"

Getting along as believers is an attainable goal, so long as the prayerful possible(s) of all persons are entirely yielded to the Word of GOD.  The possibilities here are not endless; but limited by the parameters of Bible truth and our adherence to it.  "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient ..."  This line of demarcation, dividing the possible from the impossible, is as invisible as the SPIRIT of truth WHO guards it.  It is the SPIRIT of GOD WHO liveth within every saved individual, but never lieth with unholy conduct, whether internal or external.  It is HE WHO sounds the Biblical bell when our proximity to that line becomes uncomfortable for HIM.  The believer who is at fellowship with the LORD, answers the bell, and remains in HIS corner.  "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil ... walketh about"  Rest assured that Satan has not wearied, in all the eons, of his attempts to call out CHRIST or HIS servants.

"Can two walk together except they be agreed?"  At the essence of walking together is unity; the nucleus of all agreement.  The one great impediment to popularity, however, is unpopular decisions; but remember that right has run cross grain to the polls since Eden.  "Choose ye this day whom you will serve ..."  Compromise is a real vote getter, but it makes for poor glue in the vain attempt to hold opposites together.  "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart."  In the all too common crux of man -vs- GOD, in which we find ourselves, the choice should be a no-brainer for the born again.

"And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  And let the peace of GOD rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."  Incumbent to the call of the missionary is the necessity of a mission; and where the mission doesn't matter, sin and self-will abound.  "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the LORD:"  If the SPIRIT is resident, HIS fruit of love will lay a firm foundation for the possibility of getting along, to get it done, in glorifying service to our KING.

"Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the GOD of love and peace shall be with you."

For Love of Country
Zachary Taylor (1784-1850)
(12th President of the United States)
"The same truths [Bible] sustained them in their resolutions to become a free nation; and guided by the wisdom of this Book they founded a government under which we have grown from three millions to more than twenty millions of people, and from being but a stock on the borders of this Continent we have spread from the Atlantic to the Pacific."
