GOD'S Grid

“And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto ME in heaven and in earth."  Matthew 28:18

"Even here, HIS presence, apart from HIS credentials, should have commanded ..."

GOD is GOD ... is somewhere ascribed in one fashion or another in all the great creeds of the Christian faith.  There was a time when in document and in deed, believers believed this axiom concerning our GOD; but do we really believe this on a grand scale any longer in the church?  If we held to this corporately, would we not be about our SAVIOR'S commands with a greater zeal?  "I can do all things through CHRIST which strengtheneth me."  And would we not be free from the plethora of personal bondage to sin and Satan which is so widespread among professing saints today?

WHO HE was should have been patently obvious, after all this carpenter's SON had accomplished in a little over three years in public ministry.  Blind were given sight, sick were healed, dead were raised, demons were cast out, storms were calmed, multitudes were miraculously fed, and best of all, the numerous who had their eternal destiny translated from Hell to Heaven.  Even here, HIS presence, apart from HIS credentials, should have commanded HIS followers attention to the commission HE was about to issue.  "GOD hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto GOD."  Sadly, they, like we, are in need of the constant affirmation of WHO we follow.  "But ye shall receive power, after that the HOLY GHOST is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto ME ..."  More sad is the fact that these first century saints set out to turn their world upside down in the power which had been entrusted to them; while we yawn at the same, and turn our world off through a powerless witness, and a testimony largely in shambles.  At the root of all this is the tacit denial of WHO HE is, and what HE is capable of; and this in the church!  "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of GOD."  To all the naysayers of neo-ignorance, CHRIST'S answer has gone unchanged for nigh unto two thousand years:

"THOU art worthy, O LORD, to receive glory and honour and power: for THOU hast created all things, and for THY pleasure they are and were created."
