The Cranium of CHRIST

November 13

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."  Romans 8:6

"... an increasing portion of humanity appear lined up for a lobotomy."

These in fact are the only two alternatives when it comes to mind control.  For every person, either your flesh, or HIS SPIRIT are running things backstage of your mind.  The former tends toward Hell, the latter toward Heaven; one is set upon Satan, the other upon the SAVIOR.  "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the SPIRIT the things of the SPIRIT."  The statement here by Paul is mutually exclusive, and is but one sentence in the greater context of the eighth chapter of Romans describing what distinguishes a believer from a nonbeliever.  One mind comes as standard equipment at your conception in sin, the other packaged with the free gift of eternal life if you have received it.  In the purest gist of what is being discussed here, there are no carnal minded Christians, nor are there any SPIRIT minded infidels.  "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man ... the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."  Though the pseudo-saved would argue this, any honest and genuine saint would gladly agree that pre-salvation thoughts of GOD were all vile at best.  "Because the carnal mind is enmity against GOD: for it is not subject to the law of GOD, neither indeed can be."  Yes indeed, the widespread unrest in our world today can be explained by this stroke of carnal thinking which is directly proportionate to man's absence of peace.  "THOU wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on THEE ..."  As the last days unfold, an increasing portion of humanity appear lined up for a lobotomy.  One has to wonder, at least secretly, if the best and brightest we parade out to lead us didn't flat line their last CAT scan?  The percent of the brain dead, as Biblically defined, is on the ascent to trek off the scale.

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in CHRIST JESUS:" ... is the plea to all who do possess it.  The consistent gleaning of the unfathomable and infinite mind of GOD is to be the goal of every child of HIS.  "But we have the mind of CHRIST."  To prayerfully exercise the cranium of CHRIST in the everyday practice of life and faith must be our aim.   "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;"  Set your sights upon HIS Word, and the target of your thinking will begin to hit home.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
