Mindful Manifestation

May 8

"What is man, that THOU art mindful of him?"  Psalms 8:4

"HIS countenance betrayed HIS mind, but HIS heart dictated the cross."

The mind of the LORD truly is unfathomable!  Sinners spend their entire lives, engaging in the spittle fest directed at the MESSIAH; only to have a saliva drenched SAVIOR exclaim: "... FATHER, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

"For who hath known the mind of the LORD?"  Those who gain even the slightest understanding of the mind of the LORD; leave with a most humbling experience.  Job's friend, Bildad, held this healthy self image; challenging that if the whole universe is impure to GOD, then: "How much less man, that is a worm?"  It is incomprehensible to us how one can love his enemy, but this is epicentral to GOD'S BEING.  "And it came to pass, when the time was come that HE should be received up, HE stedfastly set HIS face to go to Jerusalem, ..."  HIS countenance betrayed HIS mind, but HIS heart dictated the cross.  "In this was manifested the love of GOD toward us, because that GOD sent HIS only begotten SON into the world, that we might live through HIM."  The mind of GOD must therefore be accessed through HIS heart, for it was that portion of HIM most revealed at Calvary.

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh ..."  The mind of a bloody SAVIOR will forever perplex the fallen intellect of man; but HIS heart is accessible to "whosoever will" humbly accept that perplexity.  "O righteous FATHER, the world hath not known THEE: but I have known THEE, and these have known that THOU hast sent ME.  And I have declared unto them THY NAME, and will declare it: that the love wherewith THOU hast loved ME may be in them, and I in them."  We who have personally experienced HIS heart, have ceased our demand to comprehend HIS mind; and can but praise HIM that the latter gave heed to the former.  The Old Testament asks: "What is man, that THOU art mindful of him?" ... the New Testament demands that we ponder: 'What is man, that THY heart would break and bleed over him?'  To the redeemed, who alone can know the fullness of HIS heart, I encourage:

"Keep yourselves in the love of GOD, looking for the mercy of our LORD JESUS CHRIST unto eternal life."

For Love of Country
Thomas Paine (1737-1809)
(American Revolutionary Author)
"Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.  What we obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly ... it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated."
