Sight Your Faith

May 26

"... thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed JESUS in the way."  Mark 10:52

"Is not CHRIST the crosshair of any lasting faith?"

Is not CHRIST the crosshair of any lasting faith?  Though HE never met a blind man HE could not heal; there are none so blind, as those who are willfully so.  "There is no fear of GOD before their eyes."  In spite of miracles in full view, the insightful religionists of HIS day still lined up at the end to spit in their MESSIAH'S face.  "Then touched HE their eyes, saying, according to your faith be it unto you."  The multitudes have always watched JESUS walk by, content to be deaf, dumb, and blind; while presuming they'll end up at HIS destination, yet having never left their beggars post of self imposed darkness.  "For we walk by faith, not by sight:"  Case in point of course, is this account in Mark's gospel where the LORD was thronged that day coming out of Jericho by people with sight, but only blind Bartimaeus had the vision of faith to cry out: "JESUS, THOU Son of David, have mercy on me."

"And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.)
He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. The ways of GOD are rarely conventional.  Religion today is flush with hucksters masquerading as 'faith healers'; CHRIST, however, is a 'faith wholer'!  "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of HIS calling, and what the riches of the glory of HIS inheritance in the saints," ... and besides, what is the advantage of seeing our sin cursed surroundings minus the SAVIOR to deliver us from them? "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the SON OF GOD, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of CHRIST"  HIS motive is not to take our riches, but that we might take HIS; while HE works on our sight.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  For the one whose life cliché is: 'I'll believe it when I see it', Heaven is not just improbable, it is impossible.  But to all, like blind Bart, who rightly perceive their destitute condition, the LORD is quick to heal.  "WHOM having not seen, ye love; in WHOM, though now ye see HIM not, yet believing, ye rejoice ..."

"... mine eyes are unto THEE, O GOD the LORD: in THEE is my trust; leave not my soul destitute."

"We are a company professing our selues fellow members of CHRIST ... knit together by this bond of loue ... Wee are entered into Covenant with HIM for this worke ... For wee must consider that wee shall be as a City vpon a hill, the eies of all people are vpon us; soe that if wee shall deale falsely with our GOD in this worke wee have vndertaken and soe cause HIM to withdrawe HIS present help from vs, wee shall be made a story and a by-word through the world."
