First PERSON Account

May 16

"But seek ye first the kingdom of GOD, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."   Matthew 6:33

"... Rainbow Chasing should be considered for an Olympic event."

Our lives, right now, are but the culmination of our choices.  Priorities are established either by personal pick, or imposed upon us through default.  Beware, for many a folk ill content with the management of their lives, are anxious to help others equally remiss in running their own.  To avoid this, we must be prudent and proactive in choosing; and understanding that that which ultimately becomes our highest priority, wields absolute sway on every aspect of our lives, both temporal and eternal.

"If ye then be risen with CHRIST, seek those things which are above ..."  The wise person raises his\her sights above the horizon in search of that dimension beyond all vision, where: "Eye hath not seen, ... the things which GOD hath prepared for them that love HIM."  The myopic in greed, foolishly haste after all that is here, ignoring to their peril, "the kingdom of GOD, and HIS righteousness".  Given its popularity, Rainbow Chasing should be considered for an Olympic event.  Just as a matter of observation, even many a Christian seem to obscure this teaching of the LORD on seeking, suggesting by their lives that we: 'seek ye first all these things, and the kingdom of GOD, and HIS righteousness shall be added unto you'.  This misguided priority is not unprecedented, by the way: "And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the HOLY GHOST was given, he offered them money, ... But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of GOD may be purchased with money."

Certainly, no more powerful example, of the fulfillment of Matthew 6:33 can be found, than here in the prayer life of King Solomon: "In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and GOD said, Ask what I shall give thee ... And GOD said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: ... And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour:"  Never confuse the REDEEMER with the redeemable!  Open up that first PERSON account with GOD, and you too will discover that checks of grace are still being cashed, by all who refuse the attempt to redeem HIM, in deference to their selfish pursuits.

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow ... And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."

For Love of Country
Francis Scott Key (1779-1843)
(Lawyer and poet from Washington, D. C.)
"The patriot who feels himself in the service of GOD, who acknowledges HIM in all his ways, has the promise of ALMIGHTY direction ... He will therefore seek to establish for his country in the eyes of the world, such a character as shall make her not unworthy of the name of a Christian nation ..."
