"... HE abode two days still in the same place where HE was."   John 11:6

"Death came, and with it, came the urgency of time."

Without a doubt, the most precious thing man forfeited in sin, was life.  Created originally as timeless and eternal, we, in a moment of time, moved from living to existing.  "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.  The first clock ever, appeared at the precise moment the teeth touched the fruit; and our days, once without end, began to count down.  It would be bearable if just our days were numbered; but we literally live here from one moment to the next, never sure if we'll see tomorrow.  Death came, and with it, came the urgency of time.  "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of GOD is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."  There are times where we are clearly accountable, and if we don't move immediately, the moment may never offer itself again (cf. Hebrews 6:6).  "Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for MY time is not yet full come."  Other times are at best, shells on a table, with HIM exercising GPS (GOD'S Providential System) over us, seeking that we trust the time(s) entirely to HIM.  "And HE said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the FATHER hath put in HIS own power."

Is not the pace of eternity maddening to us?  It shows up in all our anxious ways.  "And therefore will the LORD wait, that HE may be gracious unto you, ... blessed are all they that wait for HIM."    Our prayer lives are fraught with the frantic; and our manners in HIS presence are more analogous of an auctioneer, than a child of faith.

"... because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation."  At the Garden, we became hopelessly unsynchronized, and ever since, the LORD has worked overtime to bring us back in step with HIM.    Time stood still, ever so briefly at Calvary, as GOD reset sin's clock, and offered to "whosoever will", the opportunity to make up for lost time.  In what time zone (eternally speaking) do you currently dwell?

"But when the fulness of the time was come, GOD sent forth HIS SON, made of a woman, made under the law ..."

"I accept with gratitude and pleasure your gift of this inestimable Volume.  it was for the love of the truths of this great Book that our fathers abandoned their native shores for the wilderness.  Animated by its lofty principles they toiled and suffered till the desert blossomed as a rose."
