Bare Necessities

June 22

"... all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of HIM with WHOM we have to do."  Hebrews 4:13

"... a trickle down effect enriching all we hold dear ..."

Trust is built upon honesty, and love upon trust, thus veracity is foundational to every good relationship.  Honesty may be the best policy involving man-to-man relations; but when it comes to man-to-GOD, it becomes a life and death issue.  "When JESUS heard it, HE saith unto them ... I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."   How much grief could we spare ourselves by consistently shunning all that is dishonest this side of Heaven?  Probity before GOD is the key to that victory now; and the keys to escape death and Hell, when now becomes then (cf. Revelation 1:17-18).  If nurtured toward GOD, transparency will beget a trickle down effect enriching all we hold dear regarding both time and eternity.

"These things saith the SON OF GOD, WHO hath HIS eyes like unto a flame of fire ..."  Impending, inescapable, inevitable, certain, necessitated, unavoidable, inexorable, and obligatory, are all terms which define our imminent face to face meeting with GOD.  "Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man."  One glance of HIS piercing eye strips us of all guile; leaving the soul dissected and nude.  Consider these three simple 'Bare Necessities' of Bible fact which make up some honest motivation regarding HIM, "with WHOM we have to do."

  • GOD is watching:
"For HIS eyes are upon the ways of man, and HE seeth all his goings."

  • GOD is weighing:
"All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits."

  • GOD is witnessing:
    "GOD is witness"

And this final burning fact of Revelation 21 is offered, that even the most vested mythomaniac might hold a motivation to come clean with GOD.

"... all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
