The Innumerable Few

July 27

"I, even I only, am left ... Yet I have left ME seven thousand ..." 1 Kings 19:14, 18

"Of all the faces of pity, self-pity is the most pitiable!"

Remnant is always plural in the Bible.  At the Garden, there were two, eight at the Ark, seven thousand and one here; and even during the darkest hours of the Tribulation, the count will be innumerable.  "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."  Even today, though GOD deals with us individually, it is that we might benefit the body, HIS church, in the corporate effort to impact a lost and dying world for HIS SON; and thus the remnant suffer increase.  Your personal tutoring from above, is specifically for the propagation of the gospel of the Kingdom of CHRIST here below.  HE did not call us to count heads, but to win hearts and souls.  "What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, who can be against us?"  Though GOD plus 1 is always a majority, GOD minus 1 still forms a quorum.  Be still, not a single sortie ever sent of HIM has perished in its mission: "The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the MIGHTY GOD."

If being right with GOD, i.e. able to be alone with HIM, is one of the most blessed things south of Heaven; then suffering loneliness as a Christian, is one of the most miserable.  Something is dreadfully wrong with the person who has allowed the internal link of the SPIRIT to be cut off.  "... would GOD we had died in this wilderness!"  Oh be careful how you pray, for you may just catch the LORD in an accommodating mood.  Of all the faces of pity, self-pity is the most pitiable!  There mustn't be a last Monday in May for the believer, where the grave site of the flesh is visited with a wreath of remembrance.  "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with CHRIST in GOD."  Like the burial plot of Moses, your internment must forever be the Tomb of the Unknown.

"HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
Never fear the front line, it is the only possible place of victory; and know that in any meaningful battle, classic military tactic is to cut off the enemy's supply line.  Rest assured, however, that this is an impossibility with you, for your resource is from another dimension.  "... GOD shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by CHRIST JESUS."  Go on, press the offensive, and at just the right time, the reinforcements of grace will be heard overhead.

"... observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
