Phobias of the Faithless

July 11

"The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" Psalms 118:6

"Worry over what others will think ... ranks high on the 'Death Certificates' of those ... traumatized ..."

Booger men of unbelief abound in our world today, with billions being spent each year treating the phobias of the faithless.  "For our GOD is a consuming fire."  Going it alone is sheik and macho; but behind that armor of flesh is a fragile soul, whose conscience will not be quieted regarding the righteous judgment of GOD.  Fears are innate to us, but left by GOD however, is the choice of those tremors.  The fear of the peer is the most prevalent, yet preventable, clinical problem we have to face.  Worry over what others will think or do by a decision on our part concerning faith in CHRIST, ranks high on the 'Death Certificates' of those now traumatized in Hell.

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the LORD, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a FATHER unto you, and ye shall be MY sons and daughters, saith the LORD ALMIGHTY."  Having GOD on our side is reciprocal, for we must first come to HIS; and at risk of confusion, the two sides of distinction then meld into one.  "Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."  There is no place for arrogance here, for it is impossible to develop a swagger upon one's knees.  "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the LORD, and in the power of HIS might."  Once on HIS side however, and clothed in HIS armor, there is an aire of confidence about us which is undaunted by either world, or worldling.  "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"  The humble forefathers of the faith burned at the stake while breathing out prayer on behalf of their persecutors.  Paul and Silas sang while shackled the glorious hymns of Zion that dark night in Philippi ... and we too can choose to allow the fear of GOD to triumph over every phobia to the contrary.

"In GOD I will praise his word, in GOD I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."  Draw the Sword of the SPIRIT, and go out in strength and courage, to win the creatures of HIS grace captive to the gospel.

"What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, who can be against us?"

"Because Christians are in the minority there is no reason for renouncing Christianity, or for surrendering to the false religions; nor do I doubt that Christianity will yet prevail over the earth as the waters cover the sea."
