Handouts From Heaven

January 2

“… when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.”  Matthew 20:10

“… insist your contentment exceed your expectations.”

The conniving nature of our fallen character never expects what we deserve; we consistently expect more than we deserve (unless of course, it is negative).  The inch that grew up to make a mile is the tale of our self centered ways.  With that basic honesty, it is thus maddening to apply horizontal logic to the verity of the vertical.  Presumption is always dangerous ground with the LORD; for nothing short of death and Hell, which is given of GOD is equitable, it is all of grace.  “What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with GOD? GOD forbid.   For HE saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”  Justice demands damnation upon every sinner and their sin; and Fairness would have gladly carried out our sentence had HE not intervened.  “For when we were yet without strength, in due time CHRIST died for the ungodly.”  To suppose that GOD has somehow shortchanged you is tantamount to biting the hand which feeds.

“Ask and ye shall receive …”   The only unreasonable endowment to not plea from above is that which is not listed in HIS Will.  We should consider the Testaments, Old and New, exhaustive as it pertains to our daily bread and beyond.  “And when they had received it, they murmured against the GOODMAN of the house, saying, these last have wrought but one hour, and THOU hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.  But HE answered one of them, and said, friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with ME for a penny?”  When it comes to expecting from GOD, let the heavens be your limit.  In doing so however, be mindful without fail, to insist your contentment exceed your expectations.  One should further keep in mind that HIS is the epitome of a ‘living will’; with HIM HIMSELF arisen as EXECUTOR of all HE owns.  “Take that thine is, and go thy way … Is it not lawful for ME to do what I will with MINE own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?”  The courts of Heaven are flush with activity, but Glory knows no probate; HE dispenses exactly as HE pleases.  The wise servant will receive humbly from HIS hand with gratitude; always aware that everything GOD gives is a handout of HIS inexhaustible mercy and grace ...(and HIS to recall at HIS good pleasure).

I think we shall find the Bema Seat located on the equator of the new Earth HE has yet to create.

“So the last shall be first, and the first last …”

"Be THOU present, O GOD of wisdom, and direct the counsel of this Honorable Assembly; enable them to settle all things on the best and surest foundations; that the scene of blood may be speedily closed; that order, harmony and peace may be effectually restored, and that truth and justice, religion and piety, prevail and flourish among the people."
