"A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: ..."  Proverbs 22:3

"... the adjective is inseparable from the verbs."

The antinomian aside, all men live by some law; and I suppose even those who tout lawlessness have to live by their code, however absurd it be.  Thus of utmost importance in this day of eternal anarchy, is the "born again" believer, who must strive to become a walking library as it pertains to the law of the LORD.  "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes."  With the SPIRIT resident, there is little doubt from Scripture that FATHER would have us to become a veritable repository regarding the truth of HIS Law; that we might in turn be effective in propagating the gospel of HIS SON.  "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD."  The child of GOD simply must become jurisprudent in regard to the Bible!  "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."   For real revival to ever have another chance, we, as the family of GOD, will have to fall fresh in love with the Word of our GOD.  "O how love I THY law! it is my meditation all the day."  If we hold out any hope of personal victory over sin; or any prayer of delivering the lawbreakers all around us yet bound in theirs; we must become both versed, and vested, in the distinction between evil and good ... and the school of thought here is not: Historical, Analytical, or Sociological, but Divine, "perfect, sure, right", and "pure".

It is along these lines to which Solomon reasons in today's text relating to the "prudent man".  Here, the direct heir of King David states that prudence is the parent of two offspring; perception, and precaution; with the implication being that the adjective is inseparable from the verbs.  To our chagrin though, many a modern churchgoer has erred in becoming too smart for his\her own good ... or anyone else's for that matter.  We have, in alarming quantities, bought, lock, stock, and barrel, the saccharin of Satan.  Of the greater egregiousness is that we are actively peddling it under the generic label of GOD'S Law, when in fact it is nothing more than the most recent brand of Salvation Snake Oil to come down the pike.  And you can mark it down beloved, the ancient apothecary who mingles this poison potion will ensure that the bite is ultimately worse than the bark.

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."

"America seeks no empires built on blood and force.  No ambition, no temptation, lures her to thought of foreign dominion.  The legions which she sends forth are armed, not with the sword, but with the Cross.  The higher state to which she seeks the allegiance of all mankind is not human, but of DIVINE origin.  She cherishes no purpose, save to merit the favor of ALMIGHTY GOD."
