High Octane to Hell

August 26

"If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel ..."   Colossians 1:23

"Both lead somewhere permanent, neither is reversible once you arrive."

Heaven's highway is a one way trek.  Oh, there may be the occasional rest stops along the way, and even a break down or two; but the direction of the Christian does not deviate once a course is set on CHRIST.  The route of the righteous is lit, lightly traveled, and unmistakable relative to the black gridlock of Hell's turnpike.  The gist of Paul's words to Colossae are: Don't tell everyone you know you are headed North to Heaven, when the compass of your life clearly indicates South!  Does not the world, the flesh, and the Devil exhaust enormous resources in the effort to lure GOD'S child onto the exits of self-will? ... Thus to thwart this you must don your billboard blinders, and stay your focus on the GPS (GOD'S PRECIOUS SON).  "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."  All traffic headed the wrong direction is easily identified as both cause and victim of his\her own soul wreck.  Multiple person pile-ups are daily occurrences out in the hustle-bustle of the 'Hell bound or bust' crowd.  Out there, limits are non existent, with new speed records regularly set in the zero to damnation category.  "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the SON OF MAN be.  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the SON OF MAN be."  Sin is Satan's fuel, and its refining in these last days is providing an octane rating not seen since the days in which Noah filled the Ark.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our LORD."  One is a Toll Road, paved with the souls of impenitent sinners; the other a Freeway, bought, built, and maintained with the precious blood of HIS beloved SON.  Both lead somewhere permanent, neither is reversible once you arrive.  If you find yourself on the former, get off now, and look for the nearest salvage yard.  It should have a steeple on the office, a repair manual on the pulpit, and Amazing Grace playing in the background.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the LORD ..."

"Fear tastes like a rusty knife and do not let her into your house.  Courage tastes like blood.  Stand up straight ... Trust in the LORD."
