Blood Bath

August 18

"If we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."   1 John 1:9

"Typical of the GOD of all grace, is this 2-4-1 deal ..."

Typical of the GOD of all grace, is this 2-4-1 deal described by the beloved John.  Hallelujah! ... GOD not only forgives, but GOD cleanses every damning and infectious wound of sin as well.  "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."  This admission of personal guilt is a huge hurdle for many!  Government schools have taught us that right and wrong is relative to our environment and associations.  Situational ethics instruct us that there are certain 'situations' where lies and deception are appropriate.  Whole polls of the masses, regarding the demise of sin, seek to intimidate us into thinking that GOD and HIS Word are antiquated, out of touch, and in sore need of revision.  "Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?"  The answer to this Bible question from my door to door experience over the years in gospel work might just surprise you.

The "we" to "HE" confession link must remain open at all costs.  "... if we walk in the light, as HE is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of JESUS CHRIST HIS SON cleanseth us from all sin."  What a blessed bath the blood of JESUS CHRIST is, to all who will not find it aberrant.  Apart from the frequent session of confession before HIS presence, the stench of sin encompasses us with the aura of the hypocrite.  To be a dirty Christian, is a deliberate and dirty shame, inexplicable to those around us, and inexcusable to GOD above us.

"If we say that we have fellowship with HIM, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"  Sin, to any person with an operable conscience, is a given, a no-brainer.  It is there, however, at the intersection of Sinner and Confession, that we must decide to turn and "confess" to GOD; or travel on deceiving ourselves that somehow the dead end road of denial we are on will turn out okay.

"If we say that we have not sinned, we make HIM a liar, and HIS word is not in us."
