The University of Universal Sin

April 24

" Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto CHRIST, that we might be justified by faith."  Galatians 3:24

"... our Tutor ushers us into Justification 101, where the SPIRIT professes the intent of the law."

Biblical Survey may not come across as deep, but just a mere glance from the inquisitive, enrolls the sinner in law school.  Our Schoolmaster is a strict disciplinarian, rigid in all matters as He represents GOD.  He is the unequivocal, authoritative, plenary verbal dispatch of Heaven; sent not to enlighten us, but to bring many sons to glory.  Regarding attendance, this Tutor will tolerate no truancy; and regarding the jot and tittle, no deviance of deviation will be permitted: "... Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

Due to the degree offered, and the uncertainty of your duration, all who open the Book, ascend quickly to graduate studies of sin, righteousness, and judgment (cf. John 16:7-11).  At the University of Universal Sin, our Tutor ushers us into Justification 101, where the SPIRIT professes the intent of the law.  There, even the most simple, can come away with an honorary in faith: "Being justified freely by HIS grace through the redemption that is in CHRIST JESUS:"

Tragically, the most insolent ditch class in the full view, and company, of the Schoolmaster, under the arrogant presumption that the Tutor is their advocate.  The Law of GOD however, is no friend of the sinner; but purports itself: "... quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  The Ten Commandments were never intended as some creed to adorn our lawns, buildings, or appliances; but rather a Divine set of indictments delivered as Exhibits 'A thru J' for the Prosecution.

"But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of GOD, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith."  In spite though, how many are the lawless, self-styled lawyers, who will foolishly take the stand in their own defense at the last day.   On that day, they will arrive in court only to find the Schoolmaster delivering closing arguments to the JUDGE, given to seal the fate of all who deny the faith (cf. Romans 7:10-11).

"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."

For Love of Country
Fedor Mikhailovich Dostoevski (1821-1881)
(Russian writer)
"If you were to destroy in mankind the belief in immortality, not only love but every living force maintaining the life of the world would at once be dried up."

(from his work: Brothers Karamazov, 1879-1880)
