GOD of No Guile

April 23

" ... And HE answered him and said, thou sayest it."  Luke 23:3

"The tone of Divine truth is beyond the natural man's frequency range ..."

Honesty and candor, to the Second PERSON of the TRINITY, is second nature.  CHRIST'S speech and dialogue, during HIS stay with us was so pure, it was virtually indiscernible to the ear of flesh.  The tone of Divine truth is beyond the natural man's frequency range; thus whether in real time or parabolic, all of the LORD'S teaching was geared toward the spiritually impaired.  Never, did JESUS employ guile or deception; and all that HE ever said, was truth packaged in holiness.

"Surely HE scorneth the scorners: but HE giveth grace unto the lowly."  To the sin-hardened and disdainful, HE intentionally withheld; to the receptive and repentant, HE spoke and opened deaf ears.  "... Art THOU the KING of the Jews?" ... was the question of today's context; but no matter what probe of HIS true identity, the answer would have been: "Thou sayest it."

It is sobering to realize that men are capable of asking, and even answering in orthodoxy, yet perish in Hell with all the facts necessary to avoid it (cf. Romans 1:16-23). This perception problem was chronic among even HIS closest associates: "When JESUS came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, HE asked HIS disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the SON OF MAN am?  And they said, some say that THOU art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.  HE saith unto them, but whom say ye that I am?"  For Pete's sake, even the dumb ears of Peter, needed the hearing aid of HIS FATHER to rightly discern.  "And Simon Peter answered and said, THOU art the CHRIST, the SON of the living GOD.  And JESUS answered and said unto him, blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but MY FATHER which is in heaven."

"But whom say ye that I am?" ... is at least one question that will not go unanswered by you.  In forming your response, I remind you, HE has entrusted you with all the facts necessary to get it right; and holds you personally accountable if you willfully perjure yourself for the love of sin.

"With the pure THOU wilt shew THYSELF pure; and with the froward THOU wilt shew THYSELF froward."
